A story amongst the light

There are stories all around us. Sitting outside, surrounded by so many other people, we hardly remember that everyone in this crowd has a story. We tend to bunch them up into one big ball of “other” and throw them away. Or, at least, we don’t recognize the worth in their story. Their stories don’t matter to my story since I don’t know their stories. If I knew their stories then they would simply be a part of my story. That’s such a cruddy attitude to have. Each person has a story. Each person has a before, a now, and an after. Each person has a long string of events that makes up who they are at this very moment. It makes up a story that is guided in a certain direction, but a direction that could change at any time.  Yes, I have my story, but even acknowledging that everyone else has a story too allows that person to have a position of worth.  It's not necessarily important to know what the story is, because there's no way we could all know everyone else's story.  And really, isn't everyone's story just part of one huge massively intricately designed book?  Maybe take some time and listen to a story; listen to a life.
